They are everywhere

Yes they are everywhere, they have invaded all Sweden, let´s hope they are still friendly Santa helpers from very much up North.
Off course they are!
Merry Xmas to you all!

Gone France

Hi there, sorry, i haven´t been in touch for a while, but i´ve been in France.
Gone Cathedral and flee markets. The weather (as all Europe right now) was Scandinavian more than French. But the buying for a tuff antique dealer used to Scandinavian condition was very good anyway. I´ll show you soon.

Best Sunday to you all!

Colors or not

Few words to say, just colors together in the harmony of their simplicity and their forms.

Colors or not?

Still thinking about it

I still think about this beautiful small Smålands table i sold for 3 years ago. Unbelievable charming marble imitation in blue.
I´m happy to have it sold to who bought it anyway, i just still think it was one of the best small tables EVER.

Just so clearly beautiful

There is not so many word good enough to describe the simply beauty of glass.

The first sense of Xmas

The Xmas liberty Swedish candle-holders are starting to get excited so i had to put them in the new income black bookcase cabinet along with some nice late empire French plates. They feel the season is starting. At least at the mal where all Xmas stuff are all redy up and ready to be sold. I guess my Nordic small Santa´s heard about it and wake up to life!

Gustavian? No NK

What seems to be a nice gustavian group is instead an early 20th. century product from the high quality Stockholm based company Nordiska Kompaniet (NK).
Hard to believe but the metal label under the sit doesn´t lies, even though we think NK as a new thinking design company, they did excellent style furniture´s back in time. The quality is very good in all the details, and they are pretty much 100 years old.
Just buy it all!

WOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!

This seems to be for my oldest daughter what Xmas eve is regularly for kids.
5 Years old and she is been speaking about Halloween for 3 weeks daily, many times.
When i was young i didn´t even allmost now what it was for a holiday.
I hope you don´t think that the Italian people only eat spaghetti, discuss (very, very loudly) about soccer at the bars, wear exaggerated elegant clothes in the middle of a hot summer day and idolatrize their mother?!?!?

Wait a minute we do that!

Ok sorry that was nothing, we didn´t have time and notion about this holiday back then, that´s all!

Happy Halloween folks!

Worn is never wrong

It´s never wrong with a worn furniture, that´s the touch of life, the touch of time.
It makes a furniture only more alive and true and its feeling is inerasable.
It´s probably a disease someone will say, what makes some people (i m proudly am one of them), to love things that have not remained perfect.
For me the perfection is the not being perfect.

Eat this Plato.

Who´s afraid of the wolf?

"Watch it there is something running on the way" said Alberto to me, i said "it must be a moose calf or a raw deer".
Then we starred to each other and said together "A wolf?????????"

Oh yes, in the middle of the day, close to house and garden, in the south of Sweden (Småland) a big beautiful wild animal roaming around the car the we had to stop for not driving in to it. Not scared or threatening us at all, like a very big, kind and cozy dog.
It was a fantastic feeling that few people can experience in their life.
I m so happy i saw the big male in such a nice form and shape so close and for so long time.

Books, books and also books

It´s so nice to decorate the shells of a library ore simply a corner on a writing desk or a cabinet with something with such a soul as a book collection. Cheap and easy is the word to add to my all ready expressed love to books.

THIS IS IT

The Kista Antique show is over. Finally some family time (few hours) and then back to new challenges, trying to fill up to the desires my customers have expressed.

Kista was good, not bad at all, a lot of visitors, a very good organizations and nice friends and colleagues. It just feels awkward to sell all most everything i sold to people i all ready known and that 90% of them were antique dealers as well.
What to do?

Nothing and as Michael sad:

THIS IS IT

Memories...

This it was it looked like 5 years ago before the Sollentuna antique show in Stockholm! What a mess!

Now they have moved the old charming show into to Kista Mässans Halls (also in Stockholm) and buildt up a lovely earth close and really nice antique show.

Don´t miss it if you live close to it or have nice flight connections to catch.

See you there!

Crazy about sofas

They are sculptures you are allowed to sit on!

Enchanting birds

The cranes represented in this painting are from 2 centuries ago, but they will never be old. They feel romantic alive and timeless.

They are a part of a 4 big fantastic wall decorations from a 19th century palace. They make me (and everybody who observe them) dream away from a not always easy world to an enchanted fairy tales place.

Would you like a glas of wine?

Packed for what seems an eternity, the over 100 French café wine glasses from the `30, needs well take caring hands and someone who would love to enjoy them.
They are awakening from time in their "mummies" paper clothes.
Dish them and pour a glass of Bordeaux into them and the magic is complete!

Gone France

Just returned from a fantastic adventure in France.
Great antiques to buy and champagne to drink. Could it be wrong? No.
Add then nice weather, good friends, very nice food and the fact that French people has become the most sincere friendly people I have met in a long time. The result is that Luca is very happy for his journey.
In a close time I´ll show you some good things I´ve bought.

Salmon colored

Just finished to restore this beautiful secretaire, the color makes me hungry cause it makes me think about a giant salmon just laying there all smoked and tasty. You can actually write on it and do not need to eat it up.

On my way to Markaryd

One of the year´s most funny antique meeting is taking place this week-end in Markaryd.
It´s (as many of you already know) an open market where bargain, dust, rain, beer and antiques all flow together in a cool spontaneous happening. Get over there and try to find a new favorite antique item for you ego.

Dirty beauties

On the way to be washed on the green lawn, 16 beautiful hand-blown glass vases from an old greenhouse. They are very tall, 53 cm to be correct, spiral shaped and great looking. The greenhouse was grounded 1906 and it´s situated in the countryside of Helsingborg. They have been packed in an attic since 1966 (which by the way is a great year) and not touched since then.

New arrivals

The very recent little journey to Dalarna (and the surrounding region), has been delivering four beautiful Norrlands chairs. Northern baroque with an end of the century enchanting color.

Why do i always fall so much for the colors of the item?
Probably because nice colors are nice. How simple is that?
Hey there were more deliveries, i let you soon know about them.

Deserved relax

I´m taking few days off after a very good Helsingborg Antique show. It was a personal success in this supposed hard financial time. I guess i´m lucky and that people in Sweden (and all over USA and Europe) do still love charming antiques at decent prices. Who care´s why, i´m happy anyway. So now some nice days off with my beloved family, and after a not too good July weather, even some dreamed beach time is becoming a reality. Until next week planed Dalarna trip to continue my antique hunting season, cheers to you all!

A Great Success

So long the Helsingborg Antique Show has been a success for me. I think more dealers than me are doing all right. I´m very positive, as long as things are decent and the their prices reasonable, you can sell things with a soul. I have also seen during the little free time i had some good pieces around. The greatest band ever would say "I wish you were here".

And so is finally time

It is finally time for the Helsingborg Antique show, it comes a little bit in a strange vacation time, but in the Swedish antique world July is a month full of happening. Anyway i´m pretty much satisfied with what i´ve purchased, repaired, cleaned and will take to the show. A nice load is just being loaded on the truck. Wish me luck!

I told you so

As i told you it can never be to blue!

And it does happen (see preview article "on the road"), you can always find candies if you look with the spirit of a child. I did some nice buying up north, i´m very satisfied, i didn´t have so much time to be there and neither to restore the beauties i was going to buy. So i had to choose but it wasn´t difficult.
Next monday i´ll start to set up for the Helsingborg´s Antique show, that you all should visit. The detail photo is of a amazing extremely primitive corner cabinet with an astonishing blue paint.

Snow White and the 7 drawers

Oh yes, that is the name of my last restored writing/drawers, washed to it´s old nice antique-white color, charming like if it came out of a child saga. Perfect furniture for a smaller area.

On the road

Yes, it´s time to move up, like the birds i move my hunting territory towards North during the summer. I do only hunt antiques and sensation of the great nature we are (perhaps unconsciously) surrounded by. The combination of discovering news items, seeing beautiful places and meeting great friends is unbelievably nice.
From Halland to Dalarna trough all the landscape i drive by it can happen. I do often get to buy pieces where i didn´t thought they would be found. It sound like an old story but yes, for some magical fairy-tale like reason, it is true.

Helsingborg show is getting close and i do usually get the best pieces the last weeks before my shows. God let´s hope that it will be a lucky drive this time as well!

Never too blue

It´s never too blue or too much blue. I just love all the tones of this colors.
Two details photos to iconize this great color, photos of two pieces that i probably will have with me at the Helsingborg Antikmässa.
Furniture´s from the Northern part of Sweden, genuine, sincere and beautiful. Nice colors to a nice shape, that should always be ingredients in a right mix.

Under construction

I guess you got it yourself, this blog will grow, hopefully not too slow.
We do have the Helsingborg Antique Show coming on, so a lot of things is happening right now.
I let you know.

Thank you for your patience and attention.

And finally...

Well it has taken 12 years of meditation and some small ounces of frustration to get to this.
Nothing better you say?
No, nothing better, but the truly way to express my work, my self and my journey in a simple clear way. The way i like it.
I hope you'll enjoy the same things in the same way i do.
